## How Liomi Labs builds a tool

Every tool is built in the same four layers, in the same order:

1. Interface: one screen, one job. In FirstDig: an email of new permits, and a map to draw your area.
2. Logic: rules you can read, so a result can be explained. In FirstDig: written rules sort permits into trades; AI only fills the gaps.
3. Data: open public data, with every source named. In FirstDig: 100 city and county open-data feeds.
4. Machine: the work runs on a schedule. In FirstDig: the feeds are read every day, and the email goes out on the schedule the customer picks.
